Where Retail Meets Design Summer Market 2016 Vignette Designers

It’s All Here at AmericasMart

REstyleSOURCE is proud to partner with AmericasMart to celebrate the evolution of the market’s styled vignette gallery, taking on the theme of “It’s All Here – Retail + Design + Trend” at this July’s Summer Market. In partnership with the market and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine, we’ll unveil brand new vignettes curated by the Southeast’s top retailers and interior designers—showcasing the concept that “it’s all here” at AmericasMart Atlanta. “Retail + Design” showcases the intersection of design and retail, expressed through the offerings of the nation’s leading gift, home furnishings and area rug marketplace. This July’s vignette gallery will feature with seven inspirational pop-up “shops” curated by leading creatives in both the design and retail industry.

The designers will begin with a blank 10” x 10” vignette space, access to the vast array of products from AmericasMart showrooms and exhibitors (1,400 unique showrooms, 4,000 temporaries and nearly 100 new and expanding showrooms this year), and the charge to use their personal design aesthetics to create a vignette representing the intersection of retail and design in their own businesses. Over the next few weeks, REstyleSOURCE will be giving our readers a closer look at each designer and design team, as well as sneak peeks behind the design as they finalize their vignettes leading up to market. Visitors to AmericasMart will be able to view the vignette gallery for three to five months after July’s events. We’ll be toasting the participating designers and celebrating the Vignette Design Exhibition at AmericasMart’s Annual White Party on Friday, July 15. Looking forward to sharing the celebration of this special event with all of you!

SMSteve McKenzie – steve mckenzie’s

Steve McKenzie previously served as Chief Designer for Larson-Juhl for the last 20 years, and as their CEO for the past decade. Together with his wife Jill, Steve opened their retail store in September 2012. The brand offers a design sensibility that converges two fundamental influences – the graciousness that they have grown to appreciate while living in the South and their personal love for the mid-century modern aesthetic. “I feel that our experience has brought us to this moment and we have a point of view to share that celebrates beauty and comfort in the home,” says Steve.

Huff HarringtonAnn Huff, Meg Harrington, Sam Jones: Huff Harrington

What happened when two committed Francophiles, art lovers and design junkies got together over a bottle of red wine? Huff Harrington Fine Art–a fine art gallery with a little je ne sais quoi–was born, followed a few years later by its home & décor sibling, Huff Harrington Home. The perfect evolution from a gallery was a home furnishings boutique where its founders could indulge themselves in their other passions: design and décor. And, of course, all things French! Their vision for this home furnishings store has now become a reality, and they’re thrilled with their light and airy space on one of the nicest streets in town. A natural extension of their business and passion is to offer personally hosted trips to Paris and Provence, for buying, shopping, sightseeing and all the accoutrements that make up our adventures in France. According to Ann & Meg, “We do these trips as often as we possibly can!”

Ten years later with two retail locations, a full service workroom and 10 interior designers on staff, Susan heads up a thriving organization and manages a full design workload. Susan’s brother, John Ishmael, has also been in the design business in Atlanta for over 25 years. He owned and operated his own workroom and then become a part owner of the furniture and gift store Metropolitan Delux. John later joined the Nandina Team as a part owner and lead designer upon the opening of their Atlanta location in Inman Park in 2010.
