Upcycled Utensils

From Trash to Treasure

While DIY projects are wonderful, it can sometimes be tricky to constantly be creating new things-especially if you no longer have space for anything new in your home! With that in mind, here at REstyleSOURCE we think that sometimes the best DIY projects can be to upcycle the things that you already have! As your tastes and styles evolve, before you donate or throw something away, look at it through a creative and critical eye and question if there is any way that you can upcycle it into something that fits your current tastes. An old console? Maybe a fresh coat of paint will do the trick. A tired old chair? Perhaps reupholstering it will make it sing again. In this case, the girls at Offbeat + Inspired decided to solve their problem of old, mismatched silverware by giving it one cohesive element: color. Adorning this beautiful vintage silverware with white paint not only tied the formerly mismatched set together, but also gave it charm and fresh style. To create your own set of upcycled utensils, see full material list and instructions below, and remember: when it doubt, upcycle!

“I love it when mismatched objects are tied together with one common thread. By simply painting the handles of these spoons white, the set was transformed from an awkward storage room nuisance to a quirky match made in heaven!”
