Summer Party Nancy O'dell
For Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O’Dell’s summer soiree, we put together an ART PARTY where the youngest guests could keep busy and get creative. Nancy’s daughter and her friends enjoyed decorating their own artistic cupcakes and painted mini canvases. A vintage schoolhouse chalkboard provided the perfect backdrop for the treat table. Nancy’s youngest guests had their choice of an assortment of edible works of art, including a polka dotted rainbow cake, red velvet cake pops and custom cookies topped with mini art palettes from Inspired Occasions. The iced oreos with their multi-colored chevron design, were a crowd favorite. The creative fun can continue at home with the art kit favors provided by Babbaco. It wasn’t all sweets and treats; Chef Ronnie Woo created healthy boxed lunches with fabulous paper goods and details from The TomKat Studio. A rainbow of paper goods in stripes and polka dots added just the right touch.
Kristin put together a trolley full of crayons, colored chalk, paints, watercolors and brushes that encouraged the kids to design something fun to take home. We used buckets, crates and apothecary jars to hold supplies and add to the ART party theme and decor.
DIY party details
- Cake Pedestals: Create your own “ART” cake pedestals by gluing wooden art palettes to candlesticks.
- Garland: Using simple twine and colored tissue paper, we made our festive tissue paper garland. Instructions on how to make a similar version here: DIY project from The TomKat Studio.
- Custom Labels: Add chalkboard labels to bubbles or other trinkets. We used mini canvases and easels to use as labels for this sweet spread.
HEALTHY BOXED LUNCHES: Chef Ronnie Woo prepared mini chicken sandwiches, cookie butter and jelly’s, and fruit and veggie cups. Striped and Polka dotted paper goods, as well as darling rainbow forks, added just the right touches to the kraft boxed lunches.
