IN FRENCH BLUE
A unique mix of rustic and elegant, this Paradise Valley dining room is the perfect setting for any elegant dinner party. French provincial in style, the beautiful cornflower blue upholstered chairs make for a lovely mix paired with the rustic farm table they’re set at. Finished off with a statement making beaded chandelier, this space is a beautiful tribute to 18th century France. To recreate a space similar in style, be sure to start with a neutral base of a farm table, and then add embellishments through the seating. Whether you choose to only do upholstered chairs at the head of the table, or mix and match through options such as dining benches, be sure to choose a color palette appropriate to the time period you are aiming for. We love the way that FOUND Design chose patterned upholstery for the dining chairs to keep things punchy and interesting.
In her own words, Debbie Berge says of her Paradise Valley dining room, “I was going for France; I wanted that punch of French blue — a provincial blue…and that’s where this room began!”
She started with those glorious dining chairs in a pattern to punch up the otherwise neutral space, and two big armchairs near the windows bring the blue in again.
The dining table was custom made to fill the sprawling space — “the largest dining table I could possibly find,” Debbie says.
And then she added romantic chandeliers, antique accessories, and dinnerware worthy of the best French meal.
