Ringing in the New Year

We all have extra picture frames that aren’t being used and sometimes there are a few with broken glass. Don’t throw it away though. Consider transforming it into a simple piece of scrabble artwork you can display proudly in your home. It takes very few materials you can easily find at your craft store and a little time. Simply come up with a message like I did here for New Year’s and begin laying out the scrabble tiles to display your message; I chose, “Happy New Year Everyone.” When the glue is done drying and the artwork is framed, display it with accents of glittery bells, garlands and fun New Year’s themed card stock. Voila! A piece of art to welcome the New Year!

Materials and Tools Needed

  • Scrabble letter tiles, can be found at a craft sto
  • Rations like bells, garlands and craft paper
  • Black foam core
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Frame
  • Strong glue

Scrabble Steps

Steps
  1. Using strong glue, Melaine used liquid nails, adhere your scrabble tile message to the foam core. A ruler and pencil in between letters and spaces is a great way to ensure the message is evenly spaced out.
  2. Allow the glue to dry, insert the foam core into a frame, decorate with accents and display.
