Light & Lovely Living by Rivers Spencer Interiors

A Dallas Dream Come True

Contemporary style and classic sophistication come together perfectly in this elegant little charmer by Rivers Spencer. The New Orleans-based interior designer ventured west to Texas for the first time on this project, and met up with her dream clients in the process (she is now designing a second home for them). “I designed this space–a ranch style house in North Dallas that we completely revamped–in 2014, and it was one of my first out-of-town projects and my first foray into the Dallas design market,” says Rivers. “These clients were so lovely and made it so easy to make decisions. They were open to all of my suggestions, so I was really able to do exactly what I wanted!” The end result of this dream collaboration? A perfectly light & lovely space that is packed full of little hints of Rivers’ signature style, yet still leaves plenty of breathing room. We’re loving all that gorgeous natural light, not to mention the gold accessories, chic modern upholstery, and springtime palette. Want to see more from this stunning redesign? “This project took place in the first year that I started my Rivers Spencer Collection, which at the time was all built and finished in New Orleans, so I am partial to this one living room wall that features my Stephanie Console and Audrey benches. In the living room everything centered around those metallic wing back chairs. They were the centerpiece of the entire house! It was one big room that was punctuated by a sun room and a living room, and we wanted to keep everything pretty muted so those wing back chairs would stand out.”

“The ceilings are really low and I wanted to make sure it didn’t look too squatty. So I had the client paint everything Benjamin Moore Vanilla Milkshake to make the space feel more open.”

“I really enjoyed being able to work in Dallas and it encouraged and inspired me to branch out into other sites and states as well. Also, I am happy to announce that the clients have sold this house and I am working with them on their new home right now!”

Growing up in Jackson, Mississippi Rivers learned the elements of classic Southern design, which has served as her foundation in creating her own timeless style. Stepping into a home designed by Rivers is like stepping into both the past and present. You will see hints of 18th century walnut combined with white lacquer, gold leaf, and the patina of antiquity which create an interior that is both fresh and timeless. The finished product showcases Rivers’ style which will always be…Timeless, Elegant, Tailored, Fresh. Rivers Spencer Interiors is 3000 square foot retail showroom located in the heart of the design district of Magazine Street – the premier shopping destination in New Orleans. Rivers converted a double shotgun into a elegantly designed showroom which is designed to make the customer feel as though they have entered a typical New Orleans home. The store features a great collection of local artists, antiques, curated vintage, modern pieces, and her own Rivers Spencer Collection that she currently designs and produces in the City of New Orleans.
