Lakeside Living Interior Design by Heather Chadduck

From Drab to fab

Looking at this gorgeous lakehouse, it’s hard to imagine that it ever looked anything but surreal. However, according to Designer, Heather Chadduck, this remodel gave her some serious challenges to overcome when the project was first presented to her. Once dark and dreary, this rustic lakehouse now has everything that one could hope for in a functional weekend getaway.

Inspired by the outdoors, Chadduck chose a clean color palette of gray, green, and white which is made evident throughout each room of the house. Never overstated, she stuck to using neutrals as her base, and then allowed for subtle pops of color within the rooms. We love the subway tiled backsplash and  hand-poured concrete countertops Chadduck selected for the kitchen. The overall style is clean & simple while being warm and inviting as well. This lakehouse remodel achieves a level of rustic style that would have us wanting to stay the whole year round.

Design Tip:

Bridge the gap between indoors and the great outdoors by using some exterior elements inside of the home. Chadduck made good use of this principle by covering the interior of the home with the same reverse board-and-batten paneling that shields the exterior walls. The use of the wood paneling in conjunction with the original stone columns created the perfect balance for this 1960’s lakehouse.
