High Line Style
High Style in the Outdoors
Of all the amazing travel destinations in the United States, New York is one of our favorites! While our recent flirtation with the Long Island beach town of Montauk proves we’re more than just city slickers, there is something about New York City that will forever capture the REstyle team’s hearts. This week’s collection of REstyle Picks is inspired by the strange beauty and architectural simplicity of the High Line–a former elevated freight rail line now transformed into a public park on Manhattan’s West Side. Imagine yourself seated on a chaise or a hefty lounge chair, gazing out at the sunset over the Hudson from this adorably odd, elevated park. Pops of bright greens and sunny yellows pop up in our collection as well, reflecting the lush greenery that blankets the park. Horizontal stripes–like those seen in the Riviera pillows and Catalina Rug–echo the boardwalk-like planks of the High Line’s path surface, as well as the still visible train tracks, a beautiful nod to the past. Finally, the refined touch of polished concrete (in the simple, rectangular form of a mini high-rise) from this occasional table reminds us of the always-inspiring Manhattan view! Seated in Luxury
Stately and architectural, the Bali teak furniture collection by Summer Classics is a statement in rustic symmetry. Each piece is made of the finest slow growth plantation harvested teak, hewn in large slats with mortise and tenon construction. A plush, extra deep cushion offers optimal comfort in a luxurious outdoor furniture experience. The Bali collection’s solid, squared-off lines and deep seating area reminds us of the chunky, iconic slatted chaises and benches that pop up here and there on the High Line, a welcome opportunity for city-weary tourists and locals alike to rest for a moment and take in the view.

Light Up the Darkness
These darling outdoor lamps from French manufacturer Fermob add a chic urban glow to any patio or porch setting. The clean modern design (accented by the handle’s bright pop of color, with six colors to choose from) of Balad adds a dose of High Line-inspired style that feels fanciful yet practical. Better still, this long-lasting LED lantern is rechargeable and stays cooler than traditional bulb lanterns…making it the smart, ‘green’ choice for a summer’s worth of parties and beyond!
