Fall Tablescape

CONTRIBUTED BY ECO CHIC BOUTIQUE

Autumn is the easiest season to decorate for because nature gives you everything you need. You only need to head outside to be inspired and to collect pieces for a great Fall tablescape display. I love to garden, and early in the spring I’m already planning for Fall. I plant pumpkins, gourds, and Fall flowers in my garden, so come mid-September when the temperatures start to dip I simply walk outside and start picking. If you don’t garden, simply head to a state park and “borrow” from nature. Fallen leaves, branches, and pinecones all are excellent pieces to incorporate into a tablescape or brightly colored mantle display! The same vases, or candle holders you use for other seasons can be quickly transformed with some burlap or twine to bring a few muted tones into the landscape of a great display.  Pick up a couple pumpkins from your local farmer’s market in a variety of colors and sizes for some classic decorating fun, and don’t be afraid to get creative! You can paint them, carve them, or embellish them; the sky is the limit!

“We start to transition the stores in early September because in North Dakota, unfortunately, Fall arrives quickly, and leaves in just the same manner.  Our first staple item in decorating for Fall is Great Big Mums. We always flank the front doors with enormous bunches of mums that are bursting at the seams with flowers.  It is always exciting when the mums begin to arrive at the local flower shops, because that means that Fall has arrived!”

Don’t Forget…

When decorating for Fall, most of all have fun and relax.  Sit back, brew a hot cup of coffee, and listen to the songs of the geese as they fly south for the Winter.  Fall is about reflection, slowing down and breathing in the crispness and peace that comes with a Summer well done.
