Design Love Wednesday 9/16/15
Share the #DesignLove with us
Welcome to Design Love Wednesday! From interior designers to DIY blogs, visual artists and more, the REstyleSOURCE team has a growing #DesignLove list that we just couldn’t keep to ourselves anymore. We’re going to share a new group of creatives with you every Wednesday on Instagram, so don’t forget to follow us over there @restylesource, if you don’t already. Now, on to the design love!
Everyone has that one talented friend whose very fingertips seem to shoot out laser beams of style and inspiration, don’t they? Effortlessly crafting rooms and vignettes without breaking a sweat just seems like their daily routine. Stylist and interior designer (add author, blogger, and generally fabulous celebrity to that list) Emily Henderson is that friend, multiplied by about a million. Her clean, modern-with-a-dash-of-vintage aesthetic is balanced by her quirky humor and general fun attitude–we’d want her to be our talented friend, too! Following her colorful Instagram feed, however, is the next best thing.
Add Amber Lewis to the growing list of ‘creatives we’d most like to be friends with’, while you’re at it. Anyone whose Instagram profile lists as their occupation not only the usual things like ‘designer’ and ‘blogger’, but also ‘cat wrestler, kindergarten graduate, grizzled old prospector’…well, that’s the kind of mad creative genius we like best! In addition to making us laugh, Amber happens to be a talented interior designer with a particular eye for colorful textiles, a design blogger and the owner of a shop (all under the name Amber Interiors) whose vintage indigo & kilim pillows and rugs give us serious cravings.
Lush is the only way to describe Whitney Lee Morris‘s Instagram feed–although ‘lush, green, vibrant and gorgeous’ might sum it up better. This designer and Venice Beach resident documents her SoCal life in a tiny (seriously! 362 square feet!) but immaculately styled cottage, sprinkled liberally with colorful snaps from around her neighborhood and shots of her adorable beagle, Stanlee. We’re absolutely hooked!
Interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel’s Instagram feed has us longing to paint all of our walls white and start fresh, filling in the details in a warm, minimalist style with hints of black, leather and brass, geometric shapes and natural textures. At her popular lifestyle and design blog, Smitten Studio, she dives even deeper into topics that range from design projects to parenting to fashion and more. For a daily dose of fresh, organic California style and charm, Sarah is a must-follow!
