Design Love Wednesday 12/16/15:

Special Holiday ‘Food Stylist’ Edition:

This week, in the last Design Love Wednesday before Christmas, we’re focusing in on beautiful dishes, tabletops, and all things homey….and that means highlighting some of our favorite food stylists and lifestyle photographers. See below for our international roundup of four incredibly talented ladies, and read a little more about each one!

DLW wide

Swedish photographer Linda Lomelino (the blogger behind the popular Call Me Cupcake…and no worries, she blogs in English) has been developing recipes, styling cakes & other goodies, and taking insanely beautiful pics of them since well before her first cookbook was published in 2012. She now has three published books, and is a megastar in the styling world–her luscious, dark and romantic still lifes of cakes, dripping chocolate, fresh fruit & flowers, sprinkled sugar and more are the stuff dreams are made of. A warning, you will definitely want to follow her awe-inspiring Instagram feed, however, you may not want to do so first thing in the morning, or you risk spending the entire day craving a slice of freshly baked cake! You’ve been officially warned.

Ever dream of living in Venice, or in London? How about dividing your time between these two gorgeous settings? We certainly have, and Skye McAlpine is actually living our dream, as a writer (she’s the voice behind From My Dining Table) and home cook living la dolce vita across Europe. At her Instagram feed, she shares rustic imagery from her sweet life–and we’re so glad she does!–including recipe inspiration, stories, family photos, and travel-inspiring images from the two lovely cities she calls home. Skye is a must-follow, if you’re not already!

Beth Kirby (the writer behind the insanely popular blog Local Milk; so popular, the chances are you’re following her already, or you’ve recognized her photographs popping up again and again on Instagram, Pinterest, etc) is something of a Renaissance woman. Her bio reads ‘photographer, stylist, creative consultant, cook, writer’ but there’s even more to this Chattanooga, TN resident than that simple list of nouns. She has a way with words and images that makes her seem part wisewoman, part wise-cracking Southern lady, the kind of best friend who’d come over with a plate of freshly baked goodies and a Leonard Cohen album and stay all afternoon if ever you needed company. We’re as hooked on her charming writing style as we are on her beyond-gorgeous photos and delicious recipes (that are approachable enough to re-create at home). If you’re not following Local Milk already…..well, you (and about 500k others) probably are. But if you’re just meeting Beth, she’s a must-follow and then some!

Toronto-based Marcella Dilonardo’s photography is simple, elegant, and focused on using perfect natural lighting to highlight her lovely recipe creations (how gorgeous are the Cranberry Rosemary spritzers seen in the image above this story?). This blogger (she writes Modest Marce) may be ‘modest’, but we’re not shy about bragging on her behalf…..we absolutely love her simple, rustic, delicious images, and can’t get enough of her Instagram feed!! Modest Marce is like a slice of beautiful country living in the middle of the city–truly the best of both worlds!
