FRENCH DESIGN ON THE TEXAS COAST

WRITTEN BY HALEY BUNTROCK   *   PHOTOS BY JONI WEBB

“Maison” is the only proper word for Joni Webb’s Houston abode  — filled with linen, antiques, and all the charm of France. Apropos, since Joni’s been besotted with all things French since she was 14 years old. The trouble is, she lives in Houston, Texas. She documents her design leanings on her oh-so-popular blog: Cote de Texas. Joni is also a sought-after interior designer and shared a glimpse into her home.
“I love that French design is so feminine,” she says. “I love the curved lines, the gracefulness of the furniture, especially the chairs.
The French just have excellent taste in everything,” Joni says. We could say the same thing about her.

“I’m not really trendy. I actually get more excited about things going out of style than in.” — Joni Webb, Cote de Texas

TIP

Joni titles her style “the Houston look — interiors with Swedish, Belgian and French antiques, seagrass, linens, and muted colors.” Also important, Joni says: “a mix of the high and low – cotton and velvet, rattan and silk, concrete and gilt.”
