Coastal Living Bedroom 2014 Showhouse

A Neutral Guestspace

This sweet coastal bedroom is the perfect example of a neutral guest space. Not overly colorful or feminine, the space utilizes neutral tones and de-saturated hues to provide a calming and tasteful oceanside environment. We love how the plaid pattern play on the walls and window treatments is kept muted enough to give the space just the right amount of personality, while still managing to blend in with the rest of the neutral hued room. For an extra dose of beach-themed fun, the colorful art prints on the walls give the space a small pop of color. For products to recreate this subtle coastal living bedroom space, see below.

Mix It Up

When working in a neutral based room, make sure that you have textures or patterns to break up the space and keep things interesting. The larger plaid on the walls works with the smaller scale of the print on the window treatments because the wallpaper is so muted, therefore it is neutral enough. Play with different textures and patterns to find a balance and combination that you love.
