City Collection: Chicago by Bret L. Taylor for Mitchell Black

Windy City Style

This Fall 2015 High Point market saw the launch of a stunning new line by our friends at Mitchell Black: The City Collection. Working side by side with noted designer Bret L. Taylor, the Mitchell Black team developed new works that highlight the iconic city of Chicago. Bret Taylor’s drawings, based on classic elements like laurels and toile patterns, encircle historic engravings of Chicago architecture that emerge re-imagined as new works of Mitchell Black art.

“Once we saw what we made, we couldn’t help but imagine what else we could do. Mitchell Black’s new ability to print on fabric and wallcovering had us itching to make fabric and pillows.”

The resulting collection of pillows and wall art panels is truly beautiful, and hopefully the first of many more to come. “Working with Mitchell Black’s team was an amazing experience from beginning to now,” Taylor continues, “since this isn’t the end. As any creative knows, seeing a finished piece is an amazing feeling that inspires more what we can do.” We look forward to seeing the rest of this beautiful collaboration soon!
