Circa 1916 Dorie's Labor of Love
Dorie Understiller loves old houses, and after years of dreaming, she and her husband Roger bought a 1916 bungalow that needed a lot of love. They moved a fireplace, took off a balcony, and even found a hidden basement that they didn’t know was there.
“We love rescuing old houses,” Dorie says, “and there are so many out there that need some lovin’.”
With Dorie’s creative spirit, and her husband’s handy skills, they tackled the carpet in the bathrooms, turned dressers into bathroom vanities, and restored the best part of Bungalow living: an open porch.
Dorie still can’t believe the previous owners had walled it in.
“Beautifying old houses is, hands down, our favorite thing to do in the world,” Dorie says. Come inside and see what she created.
