Cardboard Deer Contributed by Gloribell Lebron

It’s the ideal time to create a festive mood with woodsy accents. We love the mix of the modern metallic antlers and the nostalgic feel of the black and white vintage ads.   Deers and antlers are a popular theme as of late and while some of us may not mind the real thing hanging on our walls, others may opt for a more animal-friendly version that can be created with a few simple supplies.

  1. Paint the deer antlers with a gold spray paint. Gloribell used Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic in Gold because It dries to the touch very fast and the shine it gives resembles gold-leaf paper.
  2. While the antlers are drying, cut the gift wrapping paper into many different sizes.
  3. Paste each of the ads in different positions to give the deer head an interesting look. Gloribell used a spray adhesive for this task and only glued the ads on the outside of the head, not inside.
  4. Optionally, you could put a tint over the ads to give them an old look.
