COME IN AND STAY AWHILE
This historic cottage has had many iterations: carport, storage, and teenage bedroom. And now its lucky inhabitants will be the family’s guests.
The homeowner wanted a calm, relaxing atmosphere congruent with her bungalow’s historic lines. She filled with space with vintage discoveries to bring in some patina. Antique white windows were turned into mirrors, and an enormous trunk that doubles as seating. A planked ceiling gives a note of architectural charm. Gray wood furniture, linen upholstery, fresh flowers and family photos make it a space so inviting that we fear guests may never be persuaded to leave. Did we mention it overlooks the swimming pool?
