Best of the West Designers Las Vegas Winter Market Preview
The Best of the West Head to Vegas
Twice a year, thousands of retailers and designers head to Las Vegas Market to see what’s new, what’s hot, and to get ahead of trends for the coming season. Are you a retailer or designer who’s planning a trip to market this January? The REstyleSOURCE team hopes you’ll join us for our featured event, the Best of the West in Design, taking place on January 23rd. We’ve rounded up six of the best and brightest in design from the Western states–including moderator Amber Lewis and five other talented interior designers–and are looking forward to a lively panel discussion with them on what’s new in “West Coast Style”! As a sneak preview of what’s to come, we checked in with each of our Best of the West designers to see what West Coast style means to them, and what they’re most looking forward to exploring at this January’s market. Read on for insight from our panelists, and don’t forget to catch them at market for even more discussion. We’ll see you in Vegas!
Amber Lewis’s West Coast Style?
“West Coast style is a combination of laid back and effortless style, mixed with eclectic and layered elements with an overall neutral palette.”
Ryan White’s West Coast Style?
“Being a guy who grew up in Colorado and Montana, and then spent seven years living in New York City, I suppose my ‘West Coast style’ is really a mix of two worlds coming together. Part mountain town, part city living. Throw in the ocean, and now you have a real eclectic, cultivated and well rounded ‘West Coast style’!”

2. MADE GOODS
Trends He’s Eyeing at Market?
“I have a feeling people in general are moving towards quality versus quantity regarding items in their home. So I am hoping to see vendors that really understand the value in a quality furniture piece.”
Marie Flanigan’s West Coast Style?
“West Coast style is a celebration of natural and multicultural influences that I adore. It’s warm, sun-soaked, and expertly layered: all of the ingredients essential to creating a powerful sense of serenity.”
3. MADE GOODS
Trends She’s Eyeing at Market?
“I’ve been enjoying so many of the latest trends, including the use of rich, saturated hues, luxurious fabrics, and large scale patterns, so I’m really looking forward to seeing more of that in Vegas. I’ve also loved seeing the increased use of high performance fabrics and premier faux finishes.”
Brian Paquette’s West Coast Style?
“West Coast style is about many references from all over. It is about comfort and style and sustainability and it is about a relationship to nature and all that goes on outside of the home.”
Brooke Wagner’s West Coast Style?
“Keeping the bones of a house neutral and timeless with lots of blues, stripes and prints on smaller furniture pieces. Also, most of our designs are centered on casual, laid-back living: we enjoy the pleasures of indoor/outdoor living year round. Coastal style brings the outdoors in and the indoors out.”
Shannon Wollack & Brittany Zwickl’s West Coast Style?
“West Coast style to us means having a design that is casual and much more approachable than most. The design should emulate a laid-back, yet refined lifestyle. Our own signature West Coast style can be defined by spaces that are manicured yet comfortable. We lean more towards natural and warmer elements and always start with a neutral palette.”

1. SHO MODERN
Their Favorite Find at Market?
“Nica Home—an amazing vendor based in California that does beautiful woodwork. Love their woven leather lounge chair, which comes in a handful of different leather options. Their teak tables are stunning, too!”
